Community Insurance Corporation Receives A.M. Best Rating of B+
Due to Strength of Parent Company, Rating Comes Just Two Years after Inception 

Community Insurance Corporation of Madison, Wisconsin has been awarded an A.M. Best Rating of B+ (Very Good). The company provides liability coverages to Wisconsin's cities, towns, villages and school districts. 

The rating for Community Insurance Corporation (CIC), which is a subsidiary of the Wisconsin County Mutual Insurance Corporation (County Mutual), comes just two years after the inception of the company. Traditionally, the insurance rating and information agency doesn't issue ratings until the end of a company's fifth year of operation.

A.M. Best cited "solid capitalization and historically favorable operating profitability" of the parent company County Mutual, which has an A.M. Best rating of A-, as well as "the groups' largely favorable loss history, strong business position and….management's strong track record of writing general and professional liability business within the state of Wisconsin" in their rationale for the B+ rating. 

"This rating of B+ speaks volumes to the success of CIC thus far, as well to the long-term success of the County Mutual," says Jon H. Hochkammer, Wisconsin Counties Association (WCA) Director of Insurance Operations, which provides corporate management for both CIC and the County Mutual. "With over 130 municipalities and over 100 school districts now part of the growing CIC family, I am confident this rating will further solidify this company as an emerging leader in the municipal insurance market in Wisconsin."

A.M. Best's "Very Good" rating rationale also prominently mentioned CIC's commitment to loss control and risk management services.
