County Mutual Sponsors Top Finishers of their 2004 Highway Safety Rodeo to Compete at APWA Rodeo at Lambeau FieldThe Wisconsin County Mutual Insurance Corporation (County Mutual) is sponsoring the top member finishers of their 2004 Highway Safety Rodeo to compete this week at the American Public Works Association (APWA) Wisconsin Chapter's State Highway Safety Rodeo. Rod McGee of Polk County and Tyson Barnes of Jefferson County will compete on Wednesday, September 22 at the APWA's Highway Safety Rodeo at Lambeau Field in Green Bay. "Highway rodeo's put a strong focus on safety and training, which is invaluable to our county highway employees who face so many hazards on a daily basis," said Blair Rogacki, Vice President of Operations/AIMS for Aegis Corporation, which acts as general administrator of the County Mutual. "We are proud to send on to the next level of competition our top member finishers and are confident they will not only do well, but also learn even more about the importance of safety on the job." The County Mutual's 2004 Highway Safety Rodeo, in cooperation with the Wisconsin County Highway Association, was held on June 8, 2004 at Scott Construction in Lake Delton. The County Mutual Highway Safety Rodeo in an annual event that provides ongoing safety training for county highway employees and provides them with an arena to showcase their skills. Highway department employees representing counties from around the state participated in the County Mutual's Highway Safety Rodeo, which included a written street and road safety exam, a pre-vehicle trip inspection, vehicle operations skills course and several safety games. Winners of Wednesday's APWA Highway Safety Rodeo will go on to compete at the national level. Return to List of Press Releases |
