Director, Underwriting Programs

Paul Schwegel, MS, CSP, joined Aegis in 2020 as Director of Underwriting Programs. In his role, Paul is responsible for the development, administration, and management of the property program as well as performing general underwriting duties for the company. Paul also conducts contract reviews for clients, policy comparisons, and assists with the development of marketing and service initiatives across the organization.

Prior to coming to Aegis, Paul was the Director of Risk Management for Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Before that position, he served as the Milwaukee County Claims and Safety Manager, overseeing all lines of property and casualty claims administration as well as performing multiple safety projects. He also served as the county's Loss Control Manager, directing the county wide administration of loss control and safety programs, completing contract review for insurance requirements, and providing direction to brokers and insurance carriers for insurance procurement and risk management needs.

Paul holds a bachelor’s degree in occupational safety from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and a master’s degree in applied health science with an emphasis in safety management from the Indiana University. He is a certified safety professional (CSP) and is pursuing his associate in risk management (ARM).
